New Zealand moves group and tour-escort visitor applications online

From 24 August 2026, new Group Visitor Visa and Tour Escort Visitor Visa applications will move to Immigration New Zealand’s enhanced Immigration Online system.

This is principally a platform change rather than a change to visa eligibility. New applications will be directed to the enhanced system as part of Immigration New Zealand’s broader move toward digital processing.

Travel businesses and group coordinators should prepare carefully for the transition. Existing applications may continue through the current process, but new applications from 24 August will be made through the enhanced platform.

Tour-escort applicants must still satisfy the substantive criteria, including appropriate employer evidence, employment outside New Zealand, and travel with the tour group.

Preparing applicant details and supporting documents in advance will help avoid a system-transition issue becoming a travel disruption.
